The commutation factor of the absence of a conflict situation, which “Killing Caused by Playing” had, did not affect the provision of the Code. However, emperors and bureaucrats were forced to be aware of this commutation factor in the trial. During the Kangxi period, “Killing Caused by Playing” cases were sometimes commuted in the trial. In the early Qianlong period, the distinction between the trial and the Autumn Assize was required, and individual commutations were restricted at the time of the trial.
