| 内容記述 | Nahju-l-Balaghah is composed of sermons, letters, and prayers attributed to Ali ibn Abi Talib, the fourth Caliph of Islam. Ali’s teachings have been important for Muslims across all generations, but in the context of behavior in society, it has important suggestions for non－Muslims as well in modern society. In this paper, we first clarify the process of the compilation of Nahju-l-Balaghah and then examine the social conditions at that time inferred from Ali’s view of this world and the altruism and consideration for others inferred from zuhd (detachment), focusing on his sermons. Amidst widespread egoism in modern society, people have confined themselves in their own shells, lacking consideration for others, and public-mindedness is steadily declining. This study confirmed that social rationality that includes consideration for others emphasized by Ali, is also relevant in modern society. Further, from Ali’s sermons one could also perceive the confusion in society after the death of the Prophet and identify signs of the contemporary Shia-Sunni sect division. |
