Additionally, differences in gaze behavior, fixation duration, response time, and response accuracy between novice and experienced athletes were investigated in order to compare perceptual cognitive function during simulation. The data were examined using a 2 (group: experienced and novice) × 2 (screen condition: life-size and 25 inch) analysis of variance. Analysis indicated that: (1) the total number of fixations was smaller under life-size screen conditions in comparison to 25-inch screen-size conditions; (2) fixation durations were longer with the life-size screen conditions; and (3) compared with the novice group, the experienced group had fewer fixations and longer fixation durations.
