In traditional Japanese studies in Article 17 of the Constitution, the original text has been understood by reading Chinese. However, we can read the original text by kana. And it is traditional Japanese reading. However, strangely, the existence of this traditional Japanese reading way has not been emphasized in the past. However, a new viewpoint is opened when we read Article 17 of the Constitution by traditional how to read Japan called the classical Japanese language. In particular, the meaning of the word ”wa” in kanji is quite different between kanji and Yamatokotoba. .In this essay, I try to new an interpretation on Prince Shotoku’s idea of Wa. I translated and understood kanji’wa’ which was traditionally understood as harmony, as flexibility or limber .
