Three ways to obtain the textbooks were assumed: 1） borrowing them from the university library, 2） purchasing them from online bookstores, and 3） borrowing them from e-book services for libraries. As a result, about 90% of the textbooks were held by the library. About 80% of the Japanese books were available for purchase at online bookstores. On the other hand, only 20% were available as e-books. Even in the e-book services for libraries, less than 15% of the textbooks were provided as e-books. As online education becomes more and more popular, it is necessary to develop e-book services, whereas the conditions for expanding them are still insufficient.
