The study focuses on a prevailing business model of access platforms and its promise of decentralization, meaning peer-to-peer networks and markets as opposed to centralization in certain economic and political institutions. A survey on aggregate taxis conducted in Delhi revealed a multihoming phenomenon of about a half of all the respondents using both Ola and Uber. As much as 99% of the mostly urban middle-class respondents of the survey have been using Uber and/or Ola.
