 note = {application/pdf, This study examines the role of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the operation of private companies in China. Using the analysis data from Fortune Global 500 ranked companies in 2020, I find that in terms of economic, environmental, and social evaluation scores, the economic field performs the best, followed by the environmental field, and the social field performs the worst. These findings add practical implications on the literature that help investors to consider the impact of CSR behavior of large-scale private enterprises in China. The results also enhance our understanding on how organizational leaders incorporate their corporate social performance in the development of CSR and provide reference for improving firm value.},
