| 内容記述 | The global pandemic caused by COVID-19 had a significant effect on education. It forced institutions around the world to adopt some type of distance learning. For institutions that were not prepared for this immediate change, the practice took the form of emergency remote teaching (ERT). This paper will first cover secondary research based on English as a Foreign Language (EFL), online, & distance education and concludes with qualitative research conducted by interviewing 52 college and university educators who teach English as a foreign language and who are mostly based in Japan. Th¬e paper discusses the difficulties that many institutions and teachers faced during the pandemic and best ways that emergency remote teaching could be integrated into an institutionʼs curriculum if and when the need arises to implement online learning quickly and efficiently without major disruptions in the learning process. | |||||||
