As many people in Japan are averse to casinos, promoters avoid using images of gambling as far as possible in their publicity campaigns. These promoters are relatively indifferent to the effects of the promotional activities in which they engage as part of their bid to enter the Japanese market successfully. This study examined the perceptions of those whose attitudes toward casinos are generally negative using a hypothetical human cognitive model. Data obtained via questionnaire survey from a total of 400 subjects were analysed. The studyʼs main objective was to explore peopleʼs perceptions of casinos, focusing on Japan in its East Asian context, by defining ʻparticipation in casinosʼ as participation in casino-based gambling activities, such as poker, blackjack and baccarat. To explore the subjectsʼ perceptions of casinos, a questionnaire survey was conducted among 400 subjects in total, and their responses were subjected to factor analysis with the aim of investigating East Asian residentsʼ attitudes toward casinos.}, pages = {15--26}, title = {東アジアを生活圏とする人々の異文化に対する認識と行動に関する研究―日本におけるカジノ産業の導入をケースとして―}, volume = {25}, year = {2022}, yomi = {コミヤ, ノゾミ} }
