| 内容記述 | Wages in Japan have barely risen in the past 30 years. Why arenʼt wages rising in Japan? Although it has attracted the interest of many people, it has not always been able to present a convincing hypothesis. This paper first makes an international comparison of the actual wage levels in Japan,and then examines them by prefecture. In Section 2, after referring to the relationship between wages and productivity in relation to economic theory, wages and productivity are examined by industry, size, and type of industry. Finally, we consider the hysteresis (hysteresis phenomenon) from the relationship between the economic growth rate and the wage increase rate. Section 3 addresses the issue of aging populations and wage increases. This paper seeks an answer in the aging population as part of the mechanism of restraining wage growth. |
