The research methods used included a literature review, an interview using semi-structured interviews,and an analysis of interview data that utilizes the KJ method. The literature studyorganizes the purpose of children’s homes, the nature  of their work, and features of how the records are handled. Additionaly, based on the results of an interview conducted with two\nmembers of staff of children’s homes, the needs for constructing and using electronic record systems were identified.\n As a results of this study, it was discovered that records at children’s homes have the following characteristics: 1) they are essential for maintaining continuous multi-disciplinary and multi-institutional work with the children, 2) the process of creating records is an opportunity to strengthen the understanding of the lives and circumstances of children and consider the nature of support policies, and 3) the fact that the records themselves help the child find their own identity and get involved in the support process.
