Consequently, the decrease in tourists due to the spread of the novel coronavirus greatly disrupted the industry’s financial balance, causing a significant setback. This experience underscored the limitations of the sole dependence on mass tourism for Wakkanai City and highlighted the importance of niche tourism, where small groups with specific interests visit tourist destinations as a complementary measure.\n Within niche tourism, Wakkanai City has focused on music tourism and executed a tourism promotion project utilizing the local music artist “Galileo Galilei.” Specifically, they created content aimed at enticing the artist’s fans to visit Wakkanai as a pilgrimage to the artist’s hometown (a sacred place).\n This study collected related posts from X (Twitter) to examine its effectiveness and conducted quantitative text analysis. The results confirmed that the momentum for fans’ pilgrimage-like visits gradually increased from the artist’s debut until before the release of content and was further accelerated by the content itself.
