| 内容記述 | The merged constituencies which combined Tottori and Shimane prefectural constituencies and Tokushima and Kochi prefectural constituencies, has been applied since the 2016 upper house election, and voter turnout in those districts has been getting lower and lower through the last three elections. In this paper, I focus on turnout change and obtained vote change by LDP candidates from previous elections in the two merged constituencies building upon a same framework as Shiozawa (2021). I found that the tendency of lowering turnout in municipalities in those constituencies had still existed, and that the percentage of vote for LDP candidates in those districts tended to be lower in municipalities which had experienced the amalgamation in Heisei era, in 2022 election.These findings suggest that the continuation of the merged constituencies might make not only non-partisan electorate but supporter for a particular party in those districts less concerned about elections. | |||||||||||
