| 内容記述 | Is “the Social Contract” a disguised guidebook? This book is often viewed as an idealistic theory that explains how people suddenly transform from the state of nature into the social state. This is due to the reader’s inability to understand how people who have not yet become a people form the social contract. This paper has shown that “the state of nature” is the state of war that is the end point of “A Discourse on the Origin of Inequality”. And it proved that “the primitive state” is not just another way of saying “the state of nature” but a real, terrible state of war in which everyone is an enemy. Rousseau criticized Hobbes’ idea of a unitary rule whereby the religious power subordinates to the political power for not solving the problem. Rousseau concluded that it was necessary for people to eliminate both heads of political and religious power and to embrace the civil religion. Therefore, Rousseau felt the need to secretly warn people about the difficulties of revolution which would entail great destruction. “The Social Contract ” is a disguised guidebook. | |||||||||||
