| 内容記述 | This study examined the actual social effects of the ‘Host Town Initiative’ implemented over the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games from the case study of Hamamatsu City. Hamamatsu City, an area with a high concentration of Brazilians, is a unique case in that it has developed an inclusive perspective towards ‘Brazilians living in Brazil’ by inviting the Brazilian national team to a pre-training camp and organising various exchange activities. This paper aims to clarify what social effects remained in Hamamatsu as a result of the Host Town Initiative, which aimed to achieve a ‘multicultural symbiosis’, and to identify the factors that constitute such social effects. Interviews were conducted with 20 people involved in the promotion of the Host Town Initiative in Hamamatsu City (5 administrative staff, 3 sports organisation staff, 3 community organisation members, 1 officer from an international organisation, 3 staff from an educational institution, 4 contractors). The results of this analysis, relying on the M-GTA, revealed that the social impact was recognised in the following five elements:《Human resources and organisational development》,《Promoting understanding of diversity》,《Expanding and enhancing social networks》,《 Promoting participation in and understanding of sport and《 Promoting participation in and understanding of para-sports》. While exchange activities with Brazil were severely restricted due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, the enhancement of social networks can be seen as a major achievement of the project. However, the issue of the limited human resources at the nodes of the network has also been highlighted as affecting the maintenance and utilisation of this network. | |||||||||||
