| 内容記述 | This paper explores the collaboration between university museums and liberal arts education at the University of Kansas since the late 1970s, shaped by transformations in higher education and the evolving functions of museums. In recent years, this collaboration has expanded to include science disciplines, facilitating the development of interdisciplinary courses that address contemporary societal challenges, with resources made publicly available online. The integration of university museums into liberal arts education serves two key objectives:（ 1） enabling cross-disciplinary engagement with material culture and （2） examining the historical and social significance of objects to critically engage with societal issues. The latter, in particular, is integral to liberal arts education, which equips students with the analytical tools necessary to navigate ethical dilemmas and complex socio-cultural contexts. In this regard, university museums fulfill a crucial role in preparing students for civic and professional responsibilities, underscoring their growing significance as interdisciplinary hubs within higher education. | |||||||||||
