| 内容記述 | The issue of “The Nihonshi Shiryo Center” is a controversy that arose in the Japanese academic community in 1964. Science Council of Japan attempted to set up an institution at several national universities to collect and manage archives that had been preserved by private individuals. This was the idea behind the “Nihonshi Shiryo Center.” Historians strongly opposed this, and a great deal of debate ensued. This incident is known as an important issue in the history of historiography, but has not yet been fully examined. In this paper, therefore, I will introduce materials related to this incident. Therefore, in this paper, I will introduce materials related to this incident. This paper will first introduce documents created by Shiryokan established by the Ministry of Education. I will also introduce documents that remain in the possession of Professor Motoi Kimura of Meiji University, who was deeply involved in the “Nihonshi Shiryo Center” issue. These archives provide a concrete glimpse into the trends of historians at the time. | |||||||||||
