| 内容記述 | This article critically examines the expanding implications of “the biometric borders” in using technology to manage human flows in the process of securitization after 9/11. The genesis and evolution of “the biometric borders” are then analyzed from the tripartite relationship among risks, bodies, and security. The” technologization” of security as the deployment of biometrics has been accepted as the ultimate goals to identify and verify people through human bodies. This article also highlights how the broader spread of biometrics throughout the social fabric as well as security setting owes to the deeper logic and transformation of power under the lenses of the biopolitics by M. Foucault and the risk-based approach by U. Beck. Finally this addresses critical issues that the emphasis on body as the central tenet of biometric border system delinks it from consciousness and subjectivity, making it a readable text comprised of signs and codes. | |||||||||
