| 内容記述 | The Catholic Church advocates universality among the Christian denominations.According to the doctrine of the Catholic Church, the particular Church that actually performs the mission in a particular area is called a Local Church. It follows that the Catholic Church makes a Local Church mission whilst maintaining the universality of the Catholic Church as well as adapting to local cultures. This paper will study the way that the Catholic Church enables the coexistence of universality and diversity by including the word “inculturation” in its mission.After the Second Vatican Council, the Catholic Church officially admitted that the faithful should understand the message of the Christ in the context of their own cultures. This means that the Catholic Church has accepted the particular phenomena known as “inculturation”, and the diversity of Local Churches is allowed. A Local Church pursues its mission reflecting the traditions and customs of the particular region as well as maintaining universality as the Catholic Church.If a Local Church is extremely localized, there is a possibility that a Local Church loses its relationship with not only other Local Churches but also with Vatican. If this happens, a Local Church ceases to qualify as part of the Catholic Church. In the history of the Catholic Church, particular Local Churches which separated from the Catholic Church were dismantled as a result of the weakness caused by isolation. A Local Church faces a conflict between its own identity and the universality of the Catholic Church. | |||||||||
