| 内容記述 | Socially Responsible Investment (SRI), recently known more as Sustainable Investment or Social Investment, seeks to balance the financial return and social good to bring about a social change. The concept was originally developed by religious groups in the eighteenth century to avoid businesses related to alcohol and/or gambling, but it has been expanded to include environment, human rights, inhumane weapons, and corporate governance criteria, as it has become more mainstream tool to evaluate corporate performance in recent years. This paper attempts to capture these changing characteristics of divestment practices in a globalized era, by analyzing the case of “Save Darfur Campaign” promoted by civil society actors in the United States after ethnic cleansing in the Darfur region unfolded in the 2000s. | |||||||||
