It examines the following aspects of HRM in this country, namely recruitment, quota system, training and education, vocational training, wage payment, bonus and incentive, minimum wage, leave and holiday, retirement and allowance, women’s employment welfare, labor-management relationship, and management education. The findings suggest that HRM has successfully overcome its formative stage in this country and is currently running through a rapid take-off and expansion phase. Especially, HRM has reached a very solid stage in the large-and medium-scale private sector and government sector enterprises. Although, the private sector small-scale enterprises do not have any distinct HRM system yet, these adopt different practices to fulfil their personnel management needs. Most of the Indian managers have very high education levels and they are very keen to learn modern HRM systems/practices of the developed countries.
