| 内容記述 | This paper aims to understand Edmund Burke’s thought on public credit in his early work Observations on a late state of the nation （1769） . Recently scholars insisted Burke negatively held of public credit mainly in his late work Reflections on the revolution in France. But they didn’t make distinction French and British credit and refer his works before Reflection. I want to show that Burke was comparatively positive in British credit and negative in French one in his day because he thought public credit requires liberty. But at the same time he didn’t believe British credit is safe eternally. We should understand his Observations is a first step to comparative politics between Britain and France in credit and he tried to make clear when and what condition credit and liberty are in crisis. | |||||||||
