| 内容記述 | Terada Yukichi（ 1853―1921）was a bureaucrat in the Ministry of Education and an educator during the modern state construction period（ Meiji era to Taisyo era） , and contributed to modernization of education in Japan. In 1905, he established Seikagakko（ ―1945） due to embodiment of his education philosophy, and assumed the principal of its school（ 1905―1921）. Seikagakko adopted an integrated education from a kindergarten to the girls’ high school at the same place, as unique in those days. In addition, this school emphasized physical education and made an effort on an extracurricular activities related physical education, in spite of the time when there was strong tendency of overemphasis on intellectual education. Its example is Tenchishuyo-kai. In Europe and America after the middle term in the 19th century, a school developed a program using a natural environment during a vacation with staying some overnight, aiming at children’s health promotion, e.g. Waldshule, Ferienkolonie, Open Air School etc. Tenchishuyo-kai was modeled on Ferienkolonie in Germany. This meeting was the first forest school in Japan, that was put into effect 3 times to a schoolchild for 3 years from 1907. Its program produced the effect of the improvement in constitution, physique and physical strength for a participant. This effect was paid much attention in Japanese society, because it was reported to newspapers and magazines. Tenchishuyo-kai at Seikagakko played the important role in the promotion of forest school in Japan during Taisyo era. | |||||||||
