| 内容記述 | The main purpose of this paper is to reconstruct the function of religion of F.D.E. Schleiermacher, a German philosopher in 18th and 19th century, from the perspective of intercultural understanding. In order to show why the concept of religion should be deepend, we refer firstly to an ideology of ethnopluralism in the contempolary German society, to which an official institution（Bundeskriminalamt） issued already warning. Second, we introduce briefly a discussion of Jürgen Habermas who thematizes the problem of religion in contempolary society and sheds light on the theory of religion of Schleiermacher. Thirdly and as the main part of this paper, we offer an interpretation of Schleiermacher´s work Über die Religion. Our Interpretation concentrates mainly on his determination of religion as “intuition of universe” as well as on the social function of religion. From a perspective of his theory of（ cultural ） translation it should be showed that his theory of religion enables to realize the internally constitutive relationships between different cultures. According to Schleiermacher, it is nothing other than the religion, through which people from different cultural background not only understand with each other, but also enrichen one´s own culture, while the ethnopluralism sees contact with “foreign” culture as dangerous for the pureness of own culture and in this way legitimates xenophobia. Schleiermacher´s actuality lies in stressing the function of religion to enable us to overcome any alleged substantial opposition between cultures, without presupposing any previledged cultural normativity. |
