| 内容記述 | YOSHIDA Shouin, in his later years, deeply sympathized with Li Zhuo-wu. Especially his theory of innocent heart of a child. Shouin and Li Zhuo-wu disagree in many important points. For example Shouin advocated ‘kanshi’ (committing suicide to remonstrate or dissuade one's lord), but Li Zhuo-wu dismissed it. However Shouin highly praised Li Zhuo-wu. Why? Incomplehensible, but suffice it to say that you could find a hidden path between Shouin’s “one king one milion people” theory and Li Zhuo-wu’s adoration of popular novels such as “Outlaws of the Marsh”. Samurai morality and morality of townspeople in th Edo era were similar to each other in how to prceive death. Dying scene appeared frequently in Japanese classical drama, Joruri and Kabuki, which were very popular among the townspeople in Osaka and Edo. They admired the acts to sacrifice ones life to his superior. ‘Kanshi’ which Shoin advocated had common element with dying for a cause that townspeople admired. Kokusenya Kassen (National Grandpa Battle) and ‘Sugawaradenju Tenaraikagami’ show it. |
