| 内容記述 | This study investigates the publication of Japanese books translated into Mongolian in China and the translations from Japanese into Mongolian in other countries since 1949. Japanese works translated into Mongolian in China are mainly read by the Mongolian people living there. Before 1980, few Japanese works were translated into Mongolian, which grew in numbers after Chinaʼs Reform and Opening-up. The most translated works among them were Japanese literature and Japanese works on Mongolian studies. Most were translated from Cyrillic Mongolian in Mongolia to the traditional Mongolian used by the Mongolian people in China, or translated from Chinese to Mongolian, with very few directly translated from Japanese to Mongolian, due to the lack of translators using both Mongolian and Japanese at that time. Besides, some of the Mongolian translations of foreign works were translated into Mongolian through Japanese, indicating more Mongolian translators were proficient in Japanese. This paper sheds light on the characteristics, problems and trends of Mongolian translation of Japanese books in China in recent years by sorting out the Mongolian translation of Japanese literary works and Japanese works on Mongolian studies, and through the publication and translation of Marco Polo's Travels translated into Mongolian from multiple languages. | |||||||||
