| 内容記述 | Little has been known whether offers for transaction with relation-specific investments are accepted and how social differences affect the acceptance for the offers. Therefore, this paper asks (1) whether Japanese are more reluctant than Americans to initiate a transaction in marketing channels, and (2) why relation-specific investments lowers willingness to accept the offer. Scenario experiments using a Japanese and U.S. sample found that Americans have higher willingness to accept than Japanese, and that relation-specific investments prime negotiators’ prevention focus which, in turn, lowering willingness to accept. | |||||||||
